Hello! My name is Nicholas Thurston!
I began my career in Information Technology in 2016, stepping into a PC Technician role after transitioning from direct support work — an experience that gave me a strong foundation in problem-solving and serving others effectively.
From there, I took initiative to grow across multiple roles within the IT department, taking ownership of critical responsibilities including Active Directory and Azure administration, end-user support, and leading the implementation of software solutions that improved organizational efficiency.
Seeking to broaden my impact, I moved into the financial sector as an Applications Systems Analyst, where I drove the support, maintenance, and improvement of high-stakes systems managing financial transactions — work that demanded both technical precision and sound judgment under pressure.
In my current role, I lead network, cybersecurity, and system administration efforts with a specialization in security, ensuring the integrity and resilience of the systems my organization depends on.
As I progress through my career, I obtain certifications to validate my knowledge, experience, and to learn new tools and skills.
I have several certifications from CompTIA, Cisco, and ISC2. You can find all my certifications at Credly.
